Your empty tray may not be waste.

Semiconductor operations continuously handle packaging materials. Depending on the application, some empty trays may be candidates for inspection, reconditioning and controlled reuse rather than immediate disposal.

Existing trays

Instead of automatically treating every returned or empty tray as scrap, eligible trays can be evaluated against defined dimensional, material, cleanliness, ESD and application requirements.

New tray demand

When reconditioning is not appropriate, Skanda can support new standard or custom tray requirements based on the customer's specifications.

Collect. Inspect. Recondition. Qualify. Reuse.

Start with a controlled pilot using your existing trays. The objective is to establish whether a repeatable reconditioning and reuse process is suitable for your application.

1

Collect

Collect eligible empty trays from the customer's operation.

2

Inspect

Review dimensions, physical condition and application requirements.

3

Recondition

Clean and restore trays according to the defined process.

4

Qualify

Evaluate samples against customer-defined acceptance criteria.

5

Reuse

Establish an ongoing collection and supply program where requirements are met.

New JEDEC and custom trays.

For requirements that cannot be fulfilled through reconditioning, Skanda can support new tray manufacturing using customer-provided specifications.

Standard Requirements

Support for established tray geometries and specifications where the design and qualification requirements are already defined.

  • Existing JEDEC dimensions
  • Defined material requirements
  • Defined ESD requirements
  • Production quantity planning

Custom Requirements

Custom tray requirements can be evaluated using application-specific dimensions, materials and handling requirements.

  • Custom dimensions
  • Material selection
  • Handling and automation considerations
  • Application-specific specifications

Designed for responsive supply.

For qualified existing designs and available production capacity, Skanda is targeting rapid turnaround, including approximately 48-hour supply for certain requirements after specification and order confirmation.

Actual lead time depends on tray specification, quantity, tooling, material, qualification requirements and production capacity.

Target: 48 hours For applicable qualified requirements after specification and order confirmation. Contact us to confirm actual availability and lead time.

Qualification starts with the specification.

Semiconductor packaging applications can have strict requirements. Our evaluation process is designed around the customer's actual tray specification and operating environment.

Dimensions

Tray geometry, pocket dimensions, tolerances and overall dimensional requirements.

ESD

Material and electrostatic-control requirements defined by the intended application.

Cleanliness

Cleaning and handling requirements established for the customer's process.

Thermal

Temperature, baking and environmental requirements considered during qualification.

Move from single-use thinking toward circular supply.

A reconditioning program can create a controlled path for eligible packaging trays to remain in productive use longer.

Skanda's approach is pilot-first: measure the condition, define acceptance criteria, validate the process, and then determine whether ongoing reuse is appropriate.

A practical circular model

Collect eligible trays from the supply chain.

Inspect and recondition them using a defined process.

Validate samples against the customer's requirements.

Return qualified trays to controlled use where appropriate.

Track quantities and program performance over time.

Have empty JEDEC trays?

Send us your tray information or a sample quantity. We can evaluate the requirements and determine whether a reconditioning pilot makes sense for your operation.

Request a Pilot

Let's evaluate your tray requirements.

Tell us what you are looking for: reconditioned trays, new JEDEC trays, custom manufacturing, tray collection, or a pilot program.

If you already have an existing tray, include the tray type, approximate quantity and application requirements where available.
